3M Better Buried Closures are rigid body splice closures designed for direct burial. When filled with 3M High-Gel Re-enterable Encapsulating Compound 8882, the closure can be re-enterd for splice re-work.· Discrete Pair Count Range: 50-600 Pair· Modular Pair Count Range: 100-1200 Pair
It is suggested to use 3M Scotchlok Connectors and 3M MSē/ 3M 710 Modules along with the Better Buried Closures. End user will need to determine if these connector and module are suitable for their intended application. It is required to use DR tape 68631 and B sealing tapes. These are not included in the partial kits.
Kit Components: 3M Scotchlok Shield Bond Connector 4460-D, 3M Better Buried Sleeve Kits, Hose clamps, 3M Scotchcast Spacer Web 4430 (for re-entry only), Protective gloves (2-pair), Foam collar tape, Sheath scuff material, Foam strips, Locking H strips, 3M Scotchcast Strain Relief Bar Kits 4465 or 4465-L, Bonding braid, 3M Better Buried End Caps, Cleaning pad, Cable ties, Funnel, Closure body.
