Go-to Wheel for Cutting Tools One of our "go-to" wheels, the 3M™ Cut-Off Wheel 654BK strikes a balance between form retention and cut rate. It is designed to retain form under use. This cut-off wheel features a steel core. The steel core allows the use of smaller wheel flanges and it improves the lateral stability of the cut-off wheel. The resin bond is designed for use with a water-based coolant. This wheel conforms to the 1A1R shape and is 6 inches in diameter, 0.35 inches thick and the arbor hole is 1-1/4 inches. Recommended Applications This cut-off wheel is an outstanding choice for cutting carbide blanks to length or trimming off the damaged ends of end mills and drill bits prior to re-sharpening. Many other wheel configurations are available.
